What were the key elements that made you look for a fleet management system?
We take very seriously our responsibility to the world as a whole particularly in terms of the environment. We are very conscious of our carbon footprint and we required a system that could accurately monitor this so we could take steps to reduce it and use that information in our marketing message.
As well as the financial elements we are also fully committed to the welfare of our employees and a fleet management system would enable us to monitor that not only were we meeting all legislative requirements but we have real information about where assets are located and the safety of our employees.
Our operational fleets are a significant part of the infrastructure of E.ON and with the current global financial situation it was essential that from start to finish we are cost effective with the management of our entire fleet. Our fleet costs directly affect the bottom line for E.ON and this is one of the elements that we can manage and see some very tangible cost savings and efficiencies.
What stood out and differentiated Trakm8 as a company?
From the start we were given a project team, where personal service was given. We received a very fexible and practical approach from Trakm8 which empathised with our needs from the start. They looked at our specifc requirements and came up with a ground level, achievable system very quickly.
We were looking for a long term partner for our fleet management that will adapt with our needs and integrate with our current structure. We found a lot of companies who wanted to sell the product without the offer of a long term workable relationship. This was not an option for us and Trakm8 at every stage wanted to make a long term commitment to us.
From the Trakm8 product offer, what were the key technical elements that were the deciding factors in working with Trakm8 over and above their competitors?

- The Trakm8 Swift system has the ability to be tailored to our organisational structure i.e. to match cost centre codes and also data can be viewed horizontally.
- Structured reporting which accommodates varying levels of management information, i.e. CEO level to Supervisor level.
- Integration into complex back offce systems in E.ON’s case ‘Oracle’ and ‘SAP’
